This is true. I managed to pick up some awesome bargains from the MetalObsession guys at ATG5.

Would love to take credit, but i believe this was from Geeks @ Obsidian Records, down from Brisbane, and Dysie @ Prime Cuts over from Perth. They had some fucking awesome titles in that collection.

In response the Jason's original post, i'm very happy to hear the fest is planned to be going ahead this year! From an interstate point of view, well, Melbourne point of view, something like ATG is what is missing in my local metal scene. After attending ATG in '09, i had a blast with a great range of bands that i'd never seen or heard before, and probably wouldn't if i didn't escape from Melb once in a while.

From an organisational point of view, i love the venue and the two stages. Saved waiting around for ages for set changes etc, and when there was periods when you have like 3/4 awesome bands in a row, it was brilliant. Only down side was the kind of dodgy live sound, but enough has been spoken about that already.

I'm semi-keen on the two day idea. From the perspective of having 'different genres' on each night, it'll probably be better if you're ultra underground i guess, however if you are keen on a bit of everything like most people, generally speaking, it's probably a bit of a downer. All depends on the lineups of course.

I don't think AGT5's price was too much...$50 wasn't it? Sure the numbers were down, due to unexplained personal circumstances or possibly the lineup just not clicking with the broader SA metalheads (as awesome as i thought it was for me). As Jason said, it'd probably have puller a much larger number in other cities, but that's neither here nor there really.

Anyway, all the best for getting ATG6 on the road!

I know I should be shot for saying this, but this is the first I've ever heard of Against The Grain at all. Now that I know about it though, I'll definately turn up for both days if it goes ahead.

If Portal play, I will hack off my left arm and eat it out of excitement.

That's no reason to be shot. However, now that you do know about it, we will shoot you if you don't turn up to the next one! Deal?
