By far the best of the big three of German thrash. An absolutely brilliant live experience and if you haven't heard them before you should really do yourself a favour.

I'd recommend starting at Obsessed by Cruelty or Persecution Mania. Their later stuff is still worthwhile but the first two albums are the real standouts.

The gig in Adelaide a few years back was a ripper. Probably never get the chance to see them again. All albums are fuckin' brilliant. Always thrashin' the track Christ Passion out at every chance.

In The Sign of Evil is their best release IMO. As far as Proto-Black Metal goes, that's definitely up there.

I wouldn't say Destruction are far behind Sodom though.

The quality for the Destruction albums I have arent to great, but I guess I deserve that.

Not that I had a choice, but missing that gig is one of my all time biggest regrets.

According to the band, the album entitled "In War and Pieces" will be released this year by the record label SPV.
